I hope it doesn't rain.

I took the plunge and cut my roof out.
Today I'm getting weather stripping and mounting a sheet of acrylic and support and latch system.

Reinforce? Please tell me that poor excuse for a support beam that holds the dome light actually prevent my head from being crushed in a rollover.
I didn't cut any of the frame, just useless sheet metal.
That only supports the sheet metal for the roof, and thats why it's only glued onto the roof and tack welded onto the 3 points.

I don't care if anyone likes it. The truck is a piece of ****.

Pretty much.
But like the whole roof, not a small section.

I think they're referring to the cab not flexing... NOT protection in a rollover.

i think that idea is cool as hell, assuming it comes out looking ok

although, after rolling my last mustang off a cliff....i kind of laughed at the idea of a glass roof on the new mustangs

I'll get more pics up tomorrow when i rig up the acrylic and latches.

I decided to go offroading with it. It's awesome.

It shouldn't flex, I mean, all the support is in the framing around the edge of the roof.

Wow.
I didn't get a chance to do anything to it today.
I have no choice but to do it tomorrow, it's going to rain Wednesday.

I figured the latching idea I had wouldn't be the safest way to attach the acrylic so I'm going to make it like the back window, where the bolts are attached and there will be wing nuts on the inside to tighten it.
It's not the cleanest looking mod but it's functional for what it is. If I had a bigger budget I would definitely find some convertible latches and go that route. But hey, everything starts out with a prototype...right?
