I hope it doesn't rain.
A canvas roof that rolls back would be cool and the work wouldn't have to be as precise as mounting plexiglass. Old Citroens used to do that. I thought they looked sharp. It could be velcro and would roll back. Similar to a vinyl tonneau cover.
Is there room (with the seats) to bolt a bar to the two lap belt holes in the truck. That would help to stiffen things if needed. It could also be used as a mount to attach a 5 point harness

Sorry guys. Been busy trying to fix it.
I had to revert to a hardtop. The plexi cracked after securing it and leaked badly.
It looks absolutely ghetto right now. I had to weld on 1 1/4 x 1/8 bar onto the edge of the sheet metal I cut out since it was too small to fill the opening. Good news is I got the latching system to work.
I really wanted to do the soft top, but I didn't have any vinyl laying around big enough to cover it.
So far this truck has been showing signs of thats it's reaching the end of its life. Random stalling, groaning that sounds like a bearing thats going out.
I might just go and cut the roof off, roll cage and a jeep soft top rig., crop the bed and just go all out with the truck.

Why are you all bugging him about the stiffness of the cab?
If you put in an aftermarket sunroof or a sliding ragtop, it's usually a hell of a huge hole in the roof. The A and B pillars create all the cab rigidity. Cut off the B pillars, as if cutting off the whole roof, and then you will lose all rigidity and the cab will flex.
When his glass is in place and latched shut, it should be near as stiff as if the metal was still there.
Just as long as it doesnt look half assed when you're done, I like the idea of it.

Here's the hardtop. the silicone didn't do to well and soaked the interior as it poured all day today.
So I redid it, and i don't think it will hold...I might go for a full roof chop and find a jeep or one of those lil suv convertibles tops that will fit. I'm going to make it snap buttoned on.
It actually looks like a sunroof bubble from a house.
you ought to fab up something that fits in the hole. Or do like someone said and make like a mini roll up tonneau.
Please don't do a full roof chop!
Just improve this one.
