I needs a new truck
I needs a new truck
Hey yalls, longtime no see, I currently drive a 1997 4.0 v6 with ~250,000 miles on it. I love this truck dearly, and would love to drive it until it dies, but I need to be practical. So I have a couple questions. 1. If I decide to sell it, how much would it sell for? Or would it be better to part it out? It runs like a champ, just has pretty high miles, body is in good condition, everything is clean.
2. I found a 2006 Ranger 4.0 V6 4x4 for sale with only 97,000 miles on it, minor rust around rear fenders and minor cosmetic issues that would be an easy fix. Guy is asking $6,850 for it. Would this be worth it? What are rangers selling for these days? If I let this one pass what are the odds I could find something in this price range with lower miles?
Thanks for all your help, like I said, I would love to keep my truck as is, but I really need something I can drive long distances without any worries of it deciding to break down on me. Thanks Again!
-Joe

You will need to look in the local craigslist or auto/truck trader to get an idea of valve in your area, pickup truck prices varies ALOT by location
And what you see is ASKING price, not "gettin" price
What something is "worth" is EXACTLY what a buyer paid for it, not a penny more, lol
Pickup trucks hold a minimum value because they are a special use vehicle
Always guys looking for smaller pickups
Look at pricing for 2006 Rangers in your area, again ASKING ain't getting, so $6,850 is asking price
Always ask if you can take any used car in for an inspection, whether you will or not, if they give you a flat out NO, then back away with your hand on your wallet, you dodged a bullet
My dad told me a story once
two guys went to the same car dealer and each bought the exact same vehicle
One paid $6,000(old story, lol)
Other paid $5,500
The guy that paid $5,500 thought he got ripped off, dealer gouged him on the price, yet he still bought it
The guy that paid $6,000 thought he got a good deal and was very happy with the price
So it really has nothing to do with the car or the price, its the person
If you find a vehicle, or anything else, that you like and it seems like a good deal to YOU then it IS a good deal
Others may not think its a good deal, to each his own
