No, you should be banned for threatening to buy a ZR2.

In the end your going to realize that the ranger is, and always will be better then a s-dime

s-dimes feel so cheap on the inside...worse then rangers...and when lifted I dunno...theres a couple running around town lifted..and I just dont think they look as good...When I got my ranger...I had a choice 95 ranger...that my grandpa had...or the 01 sdime he had....yeah...I took the ranger with the 2.3l over the 4.3 sdime for a reason.....The truck...well being a 01 was much worse off then my 95 ranger is today....

Truth^ I looked at an s10 in that same color when i seen my truck, same price mine had about 30k less and more power. Granted that s10s have more performance mods for their motors, but id still take my truck over an s10 anyday of the wk.

I don't need a bigger *****, I need a bigger truck than what you got.

Sorry, but after test driving loaded F150's, F250's, Rams, Rangers, Tundras, Titans, Frontiers and Tacomas, it's obvious that I didn't like any of them over my bare bones Silverado.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Ranger, but for a full size, I think I'll be sticking with Chevy. I look back now and see that my dad was always under the hood of his Fords, and even now any time he drives his Tundra, he always finds something new wrong with it. Yeah, my Chev might have some stuff pop up, but all vehicles do whether you want to admit it or not. It's a mechanical object. They won't last forever. Stuff wears out.

If I were getting a 3/4 ton or bigger, I'd be getting the Duramax over the gasser. Guys at work have the 6.0's in their trucks, and while they make good power and all, they just get terrible mileage. I don't mind getting 16 MPG's (although I still average about 19 if I keep my foot out of it), but 10-12 when you're feathering it seems a bit too low to me.

I wouldn't get a crew cab long box, though. My truck has the turning radius of a naval air craft carrier, and it's short! I couldn't imagine trying to turn around a CC LB.

Definitely don't get an S-Dime. I just have never liked them. I refuse to ride in my moms.

I agree complete. S10's are best lowered. I have a friend with a 01 lowered and I love his truck. Personally I like s10's, but as lowered trucks.

Chevy trucks ride like a minivan. They lean so bad in the corners you need a damn 6 point harness to not fall out of the seat. No offense dude, but your Chevy fanboyism is almost as bad as my Ford fanboyism... LOL I have owned a 2003 Silverado Z71 LT. 5.3 v-8. It had plenty of problems and yes drove like a minivan. I will never own a product of a company that accepted bail-out money till they pay us ALL back.

Your options are a lifted S10, or a Duramaxipad? ouch

On one hand you have a truck worse than a Ranger that gets worse fuel mileage (4.3L) with less power and cheaper feeling interior, or you end up with a Duramax . . . either way you're kind of stepping into a world of regular repairs.

IMO, your truck was better than either choice, so good luck (lmao).

random\ This brings me to say, I want to build an F350 with a Cummins and Allison one day. / random

^^ What is up with all you guys thinking duramax's suck??

Well I went and looked at the s10. One bad *** looking truck. It was in alright shape. But the front end was so messed up. I didnt buy it. I would have costed a grand in front end parts and **** to fix. I bet the left front tires was off more than 2 degrees. Otherwise pretty sweet truck. But it was gutless. no power at all.

I live in the country, it's 60% PSD, 30% CTD, 10% D-Max/Detroit. I drive semi trucks, try to find a guy I work with, or in who works our shop that owns one. Funny they're not that popular in the further North either (cold). Most of our welding rigs are Cummins or PSD, a small percent D-Max's. Our emergency trucks, railroad trucks, Dept. of highway trucks, linewire trucks, RV's and tow rigs around here . . . Powerstrokes and Cummins.

Also to keep on topic, there is a reason Cummins and Navistar/International are two of the leading HD diesels (excluding CAT).

Just my $0.02

I'd hit up the new Silvy/Sierra, they are nice. Finally a Silvy front end that actually doesn't look bad. The F150's the other way around, it was looking nice until the '09 model which is UGLY.

But an S-dime, forget it. You'd be better off with a Colorado/Canyon and even those aren't that cool...

Ok. I'm not trying to start a fight here... but after looking through this thread I'm simply wondering "why?" Why post this here in the first place?

Personally, I'm a big fan of Capitalism... so purchase whatever you vehicle you think is the best, whether Chevy, Ford, Dogde, Toyata... it's your choice because it's a free country and Capitalism is at it's best when people buy the best thing, not because they are brand loyal.

However, in answer to your question about why people are down on your D-Max engines? YOU'RE POSTING THIS ON A FORD FORUM! Of course people are going to be biased against Chevy/GMC products. Some of it may be factual... some of it may simply be complete and utter opinion. But go post this same thread on a Chevy / GMC forum and you'll have answers significantly different. Sucks that you sold your Ranger. I hope it was a good truck for you while you had it. Best of luck with the new truck, whatever it may be.

Wait, then why are you looking at an S10 again? You can lift a ranger as much as an s10 I'm sure.
