4.0 are not that bad. My brother has a 94 f150 9 incus of lift and 35's he gets about 7 mpg's. In my opinion they need to make a fx4 with a desiel. That would be great, and why is everyone saying the rangers are done?! Is this true??

honestly. i don't want an off-roading truck built after 2009.

with all the traction control, abs, airbags, stability control, safety stuff in general BS its pretty much a joke off road.

i mean even in our 20 year old trucks that only have 4WABS (and advancetrac in the 2010-11) we still put ABS kill switches in them. now imagine if we had to go through a huge process off disabling 10 other things to.

For a four banger my 17.5 mpg sucks, I should be getting much better than that. Ya I get 31 mpg on the highway, but I do most of my driving in the city. I'm used to my old Tempo that got awesome gas mileage. 17.5 mpg is not awesome. If they want to sell me a newer truck, it's gonna have to get better mileage than what I'm getting now.

I would want it 4x4 supercab and fully loaded like an Explorer. I saw a black one today, newer model, with black leather interior, it was sexy. I wanted that interior in my ranger.

Sounds like your truck may have some issues senoir!! lol you should be gettin atleast 19-21 for an auto..the manuals get about 22-24 mpg's.. I had a 4.0 auto and i was gettin 20 mpg before i threw on the 33x12.50's.

that's why you remove the fuse first. i was fortunate that someone told me about this so i am passing it on to you.

DJ wayne, i agree, something might be wrong. it could also be the auto trans instead of a manual. you could be right at the shift point and reving high in 3rd alot instad of low in 4th. those extra rpm's could really add up.

i do this, i'll drive 30-40 mph in 5th sitting at 1000-1500 rpms where as a auto trans might be at 2000. it adds up.

thats a ten-four right there good buddy.

i put it in 5th as soon as I hit 35-40. that 500 rpms over a whole tank of gas does wonders.

That would rock!
I just dont think they could weigh the ranger down enough.
The 5.4 Roasts with no attempt. But the 6.2 or what ever size it is, That leaves marks and it isnt loosing traction off the start.
If the ranger had that set up it would be dangerous. And I would definately want one!

I would of bet that was a nissan? huh?

I got a 4.0 and gas mileage only bothers me when it gets to $4 a gallon. LOL.

it would not be worth the price tag... you can buy better parts for less money. sure you can finance the svt but who would spend 30k+ on a maybe 10inches of travel...

part of the problem with the milage of the ranger is the weight. the 4.0 inst that bad. if they updated it a toutch to make it more efficant, it would be great, or jst stuff the eco boost v-6 in it.. or a v8. the crewy will bring more weight, but with a better power plant and some lighter materials in some spots it would be great.

let the ranger live! i dont want an f150 to be my small truck option from ford....or is it frod(fraud) now.....

if the general public(other than us)showed sizable interest in the ranger they wouldnt axe it but the only real buyers of rangers anymore are for fleets...truth hurts...its gonna suck to see the ranger go

The black Ranger pic and the gray Ranger above are (were, cuz the black one is a early model) both sold in Chile, but not in Argentina for example, which get a Ranger like Comunistico's.

This is Comunistico's rig:

Pretty freaking awesome rig!

And that's the Argentinian model, which can be Diesel like Comunistico's, or gas (2.3L Duratec). And they are both sold in different markets at the same time. Mexico don't get Diesel versions of the Ranger (or any car) cuz Diesel here pretty much sucks and kills the engines (which were not properly tested with local Diesel).

Everything is kinda confusing regarding Ranger models once you are past beyond Mexico... one country gets this Ranger, another gets this other model, one country gets both...

Dude, I'm getting 25 mpg (at least) and 32 mg (tops) with my 4 banger, all in the city. Don't really use it much on the highway (will do in a couple of weeks...)
