Umm this a no-brainer, since I had both. 4wd FTW.

this kind of a stupid question. if I was off roading I would much rather have a 4X4. but since I don't take my truck off-Road I'm happy with my 2wd. I'm happy with what it does on the road. and its not terrible in snow.

i'd never look at a 2wd truck. for offroading or normal everyday use.

Depends on were you live, If you live in a place like I do, during the winter you almost need 4wd, and if you're offroading, but if you just like to cruise, 2wd, but I will say that if have a 4wd, more stuff to go wrong if something goes wrong.

Older truck = 4x2

Newer truck with warranty = 4x4

I agree. if I would want 4wd I would much rather have an awd system like Subaru does. my dad has a 99 Legacy. a few winters ago I was driving it during a snow storm. I was following a 4wd 1996-older Dodge Dakota and that thing was all over the road. The Subaru was straight and never got a little sideways at all. nor did I ever loose traction. The guy had a pissed off look on his face when I passed him .

my 2wd does just fine in snow. I have no issues with some sand in the back in 2-3 inches of snow. anything above that I wouldn't be out on the road unless I have the Subie.

wouldn't it depend on the off-road application?

everything in general off-road 4x4, but what about 4x2 pre-runners? Or trucks like Griggs'?

Poll is moot otherwise?
