Hey, went to the body shop today to see the progress of the truck and also to deliver a handle relocator so when they shave the tail gate.
After calling ScottyG and getting a few more truck accesspry places names, I ended up that I couldn't find any stepside roll pans that had the same contour of the tailgate. So since we couldn't find one, they are going to be welding a piece of steel and using some mud to fill in and MAKE it fit the contour. I'm also having them weld the emblem holes and get her all clean :D
About 2 more weeks and she'll be back!!! YAY!

at least theyre working with ya as far as the shaving stuff goes i know some shops wouldnt do that. looking good so far i know your probably ready to get it back

 

Q - did you get a whole new bed? Why is it black? Is that factory primer?

The entire bed wasn't replaced... all they changed was the side, they unbolt VERY easily on a stepside bed.

That's straight from the factory just a black paint that comes over the fiberglass, same on the tailgate too... they will primer it before they paint it.

 

It's gonna look great when it's finished!, i can't wait to see how it ends up looking :) you should have the exhaust tips go through the roll pan haha, nah..

 

When it's done and all smooth, you'll love it. Can't wait to see the finished product. May as well shave the gas door and have it relocated to inside of the bed.

 

I was thinking about the gas door but the body shop aint' gonna get anymore business outta me.... they already pissed me off enough, but yeah... that'll eventually happen :D

not sure o nthe antennea yet, might get a magnetic one for the roof, I still don't know I'd like to get a small one that sticks on the back window and looks very discreet. if anyone has any ideas... pass them along? :D

 

Guess it it to late now, but Grant Kustoms makes pans with the contour. :?
