junkyard questions

basically im looking for the cheapest lift so i can get my tires sooner. at the JY they have a bunch of leafs. (btw this is the kind of jy where its more like a store with used parts) was wondering if i called and asked for like chevy leafs or something if that would do it. then theres the front... what are my options there? is there shocks that will lift the front? basically what should i ask them for. .........or............ just screw all of that and BL? see i already have rear lift just need the front now thats the prob. as you can see in my avatar ^ that pic is WITHOUT the factory blocks, so if i needed more lift i could throw those back on as well.

Personally I would wait until you can actually afford the whole nine... it's up to you I'd just hate to see you go through a ton of work to piece something together and not have it work out in the end... just my $0.02..

Since you have torsion bars theres no shock that will lift for you. You need to either get a BL or front lift spindles which you won't find a in a junkyard. The rear is much easier/cheaper. You can swap in chevy springs but you have to move the front hanger which I don't think you want to mess with. The cheapest way is going to be getting a body lift for a 98-00 summit brand for $130.

Like said, your options for the front are extremely limited, aftermarket lift spindles. The rear you have a few more, as far as junkyard parts, you can get Explorer rear leafs and expect around 1.5" of lift. The amount of lift will depend on the model of Explorer and how much they were already sagging. You can also buy (not in a junkyard) either AALs for 2" or beltech 6400 shackles for a chevy fullsize for about $55 for 1.5" of lift. I'm not sure what you're already running your signature just said 3" lift...

Rear , Explorer Springs shackle will net you 1.5" of lift and a stiffer spring rate .
Order a 2" Chevrolet Drop shackle from a truck store (mounts upside down on ranger to net 2" of lift ) this nets you a total of 3.5 inches of rear lift . This will run 100+ for spring packs and another 50 for shackles . Be shure and have them mark the packs Driver and passenger and swap them in oposite when installing in your truck so driver pack goes on passenger side and vice versa.

Front Lift spindles , you will have to order these from a Truck store , or Clssified section .
This nets you the needed Lift up front of 3"s .

Or for around 150 get a Body lift which most people around here Do , I just dont like them so I went with the above Method .
