I went out to start my truck before school this morning and the key wont turn. I used the search and nothing so thats out. Tried wiggling the wheel, nothing. Tried willing the shifter, nothing. 1997 ranger 2wd, automatic, 2.3 liter. I really need help so replies are much appreciated.

 

I have had this problem too, no idea what caused it though. I just took key out turned it over and put it back in. Then wiggled it and it worked. Could also try spraying wd40 in key cylinder, graphite would be better but I would be more interested in getting it to start and worrying about it gumming up later. Sorry I can't be of more help.

 

Got it figured out. Apparently a hairdryer pointed in it must have dryed any mousture sitting inside. Thnaks for the fast reply.
