Looking at a 94 Dodge Stealth. Need advice.

So my buddy is car shopping and he found this 94 Stealth he likes. It's got 67k, looks pretty damn good for it's age. Started and drove it around, no knocks or engine noise. Only issues are a little oil on the oil pan and some paint problems. It's been sitting on the lot about a year. It's got new brake and fuel lines, tires are good, but the brakes need done. They want 5k for it. I hear these things (and sister car Mitsu 3000GT) are engine problem nightmares. I don't know anything about them though.

Any advice?

***** those cars. Run away as fast as you possibly can. Those things are nightmares. Just like my truck sat on the lot for a year and a half and look what I\'ve put into it....... $7800 in repairs now $3000 and another G in front end work. I\'m only paying because it\'s more convienent as I have finals. FML

He's pretty set on it. We looked at a 2000 F150 ext cab 4x4 with 130k for $4300 I really liked. It was clean as hell and rust free. He is stuck on 2 door cars though. I'm telling him that thing is too old and it's been sitting too long. Oh well, his money.

I've built a few of the 6G72TT engines and I'm very comfortable around them. It's a good car, and a rare one. They are kind of difficult to work on because the motor is mounted transversly. I would love a VR4 however if I only had the garage space.

There is a SWEET VR4 that runs around my town. I always loved those things.

Anyway yeah I am trying to figure out how bad this oil pan leak is. If it's not too bad I'm gonna give him the OK on it.

I haven't heard of engine problems, but they do have tranny problems.
