Hello Ranger-Forums,

Tomorrow I am looking at a single owner red 2006 Ranger FX4 Extended Cab, 207000 ODO, 6cyl (meaning 4.0, right?).

From what I can tell the aftermarket parts include: radio, exhaust (but i think its just the chrome tip), and oversized goodyear wranglers (not sure exact diam)

The paint is in good condition, and I will be checking for rust but I think it's lived in AZ its whole life.

I've seen other threads saying, when well maintained, Rangers have been known to got 300,000+ miles, is that normal? When do the stock power trains usually take a crap?

What are some things you guys can tell from the photos, and what should I look for tomorrow? What kind of questions should I ask?

Maybe you guys could help me get a checklist together, here's mine so far.

• Check for rust, everywhere.
• examine oil
• Test 4WD
• Test all doors, windows, seats
• Visual inspection of;
  • brake lines
  • engine wiring/hoses
  • brakes
  • tires
  • suspension
  • drivetrain

Also, are those rims stock? If not, any idea what they are?

 

the rims don't look stock. They look like some American racing rims. Your list looks fine. Unless it's an fx4 thing, the truck could be a 3.0, no?
