Low speed jerking.

Well, after a new rear axle and drive shaft and about two years latter I have a new problem. At low sppeds between 20 and 50 MPH my truck will jerk from time to time. Doesn't really make much noise, but you sure can feel it. This is at crusing speeds, not accelerating or slowing down. Does it in 2 and 4 wheel drive. This summer I inspected the rear axle and installed new fluid, looked OK. I hope it's just a shift valve sticking, I plan on having the tranny flushed and filled soon anyway.

Anyone else ever have this problem? I hope it's an easy fix, I plan on trading trucks soon and don't really need any big bills right now.

Hmmmm have you had your transmission serviced recently? If not try that. Also is the motor cutting out when this happens?

My input to this thread is its your FRONT drive shaft. I am having same issue at 55 mph + with my front shaft and not applying gas. It vibrates. and is slowly getting worse. I would look into that. Being we have similiar trucks could be same problem. Since i two have replaced my rear end and my rear drive.

They is like a sensor in there. ugh i wish i knew more on it im sure you can search it. Someone mentioned have an issue with it. And ford replaced the sensor in the tranny and it fixed the problem. something to do with shifting and shift points being its an auto.

I had the same problem. I replaced the first (shift) and third (can't remember what it was called) solenoids, flushed/replaced fluid with Mobil 1 ATF, replaced filter, added 2 ounces "shudder guard" (for torque converter shudder), and the problem seems to be solved.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. My tranny is getting flushed and filled and looked over closely. Hope it goes away!
