**TONNEAU COVERS**

anybody get one of these on their ranger. I wanna get one of those hard cover ones that swing up almost like a hatchback. Any specific brands better than the other?

Check out the A-R-E lineup of tonneau covers.
They are one of the best tonneau covers on the market... but they aren't cheap.

Here's mine.. it's not an A-R-E... but it came with the truck...

I have a Ranch Tonneau. It came with the truck when I bought it, and I can't seem to find it on Ranch's website so it might be an older model. I love it cause it only has one little metal key hole on the back instead of a big bulky plastic thing on the top and I like how it wraps down over the tailgate so everything is fully locked.

yeah it looks like the A.R.E.'s....so even if you force it theres is no way to open the tailgate with out unlocking the tonneau cover?

A.R.E. hard tonneau. Came with the truck, love it! Only downside is that you have to take it off if you want anything tall. But I love the design and the lock on it, so I cant complain.

so its fairly difficult to break into this, even if you really forced the top and the tailgate down?

Yeah, if the cover is closed the tailgate doesn't open or close and everything is completely locked.

ARE is top of the line... mine even has the remote lock tied into the key fob button. Not cheap though, a new one will run 1K or so.

hard covers are nice cause their lockable. However garbage picking.. and moving stuff in a jippy, they can be a real PITA. I had a snapless cover on mine, one that uses tongue and groove. Was actaully great tile my dog decided to chew the corner off of it when he was a puppy and it was laying on the floor in my garage
