I can't remember but you could do the math

118mph= (X rpm * 31" * pi * 60min *1ft * 1mile) / (4.1 rev * 12" * 5280ft *1hr)

X=5248 rpm that is using a 1:1 4th gear ratio and 31" tires

Looks like 6000 rpm will get you to 134.96 mph with my set up.

I've only been 80 in my truck, it got there with ease, and it has a 2.5l. This morning, I pulled out into the road real fast, and got up to 70 and didn't even know it and had to slow down.

See I thought the same with my truck at 118mph, the speedo just wasn't moving any more. I'm thinking the drag at ~115 and up is close to the max engine torque.

Could very well be, I know it was 4 of us down a 4 lane interstate. 3 people were on 35s and 1 on 33s.

With my 4.56s i didnt have much left. Bill and Mark have 4.10s and they didnt seem to have to much trouble running those speeds but i wasnt in their truck.

Evan with 33s was in front of me so he did pretty well.

I think I would have more if there wasnt so much extra drag and turbulence being created by the front light bar and roof light bar.

WOOT WOOT! Go on w. your bad self homie.

Now that I'm 'lowered' my truck topped out at 87, seriously. I'm guessing cuz of the downsize in tires.

Well Im not going to do that again. I was running like 6 grand in overdrive and kinda blew the tranny up... It was fun, but that like everything else I have done with the truck has cost me too much money... I keep her under 110 most of the time now.

Edit: Zabeard has the video of me doing that somewhere...

I hope 1 of you chuckle-heads don't take anyone else out when you kill yourself.

These vehicles and their tires are not made to safely go that fast.

I have the 4.0 35'S and I think 3:73 once u hit 70 anything else takes forever to get to wont go much over 82 but takes like a constant 5 minutes to get that fast

Use the forumla if you know you were at 6000 rpm you can find out your speed.

Speed = (rpm * tire diameter (in inches) * 3.14 * 60 * transmission ratio (1 for 4th gear) )/( rear axle gear ratio * 63360)

I agree. And each person has to make their own choice and live with the reaction.
