My new Ranger

Ok here's the deal. I bought this new in 2006 for my business. I sold my business in 2010. I had 4 Rangers. I sold all of them except this one. My dad needed a truck so I gave it to him. He has had it for a couple of years and only put about 2,000 miles on it. I have always had a Ranger in my driveway, but havent had one for about a year. So we were talking and I told him I was going out to buy one, he said just take this one back because he never drives it anyway. So I picked it up and it is mine again. Like I said I have had several Rangers, I have always liked them. I have kept different parts from my trucks throughout the years. So let the fun begin. The specs, 3.0,automatic, extended cab (2 door model) XLT package but no tilt or power anything. But I have plans for it. I had an FX 4Level 2 a few years back that got totaled. It had the full length console with sub (oh yea I kept that) so thats my first interior mod. this new one had 60/40 split seats. I could not find a nice enough replacement at any of my local yards so I decided to mod mine. I took my time and think it looks good. Tell me what you guys think. There is alot more I want to do so I will keep posting updates.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

Yea the hubcaps are ugly. That is one of the things on my list. I have a friend that who is a great bodyshop guy. I had him do a complete buff on the truck, and I wash it just about everyday. My five year old daughter loves to wash the truck with me . I have alot of stuff I want to do with it. I wanted to use the sub in the console with factory radio. But from what ford told me I have to have the audiophile main wiring harness in the truck. I have the harness that connects to the amp sub and MP3 jack but it need a special plug at the bottom of the dash and most Rangers do not have it. So I figured I will just use an aftermarket amp and head unit. I will make it work. I wish it had jumpseats in the back. I was thinking of getting some and installing them. But I would have to get seat belts and the correct panels. Has anyone done this or can it be done?

Hey 01rangeredge, I am going to be driving through Rolla area at the beginning of July. If there is anything you are looking for let me know. We have a new yard opening on monday. I peeked through the fence and it looks like they have several Rangers and Explorers.

I shoud have taken pics of the seat mod process. I will probably start the audio portion tonight. Since I already have an amp. I still need a head unit. The amp is an Alpine PDX 4.100. I will brdge 2 of the channels for the sub and use the other 2 channels for the front speakers. I will mount the amp under the passenger seat, I want it to look totally stock. I will take photos of the install and post em up tonight. any other mods you could recommend??

I won't be in Rolla though, I got an internship back home.

Where is the new yard?

I put the new rims and tires on today. No more hubcaps. I also installed a JVC head unit I had lying around. I will post pic tomorrow. My next project is to install my Alpine amp under the passenger seat, so that I can power the factory sub in the console.

I need to buy an amplifier install kit (power ground and RCA cables) so that I can install my amp Wednesday night. If anyone is interested I have a Pioneer 6 disc changer and the pioneer XM module. Your radio needs ti have the IP bus plug on the back of the radio. I also have the pioneer sirius box which is smaller and now that sirius and XM are the same either will work. I also have all of the cables. [IMG][/IMG]

What was the check list box for that center console, my 07 has that little two well catch-all. I had the ugly black plastic bumpers and grill. XLT...man did that mean different things for different years. I got the 08 front on it and swapped out those 7 spoke painted rims (winter use now) for a set of American racing rims and BF Goodrich Radials T/A's. You'll get it looking better soon.

That does look just like mine when I first got it. Did you lift it? That looks really nice! Have you done anything on the inside? I like the round fog lights.

2 inch rear lift. Im calling camburg racing and ordering their 5.5 kit and a set of deaver leafs.

inside i have a clarion 12, alpine 800 watt amp and thats about it, though its loaded with all the options. its an XLT package and i only have about 32,000 Miles on it. not bad for an 2006.

those fogs are actually spots, ungodly bright aircraft landing light kinda bright,
