My Ranger's first off road expedition!

Aight, so this is it. My ranger is a 4 cyl, auto, with 2wd open diff, 3.73 rear gears. This is what she did. I was shocked! Got stuck once. I'll post the pics here... but the videos I will link you to the photobucket album for. This is a ATV "park" off of North Hampton BLVD in Norfolk, VA. Nice little watering hole! Lots of neat little trails... just watch out for the trail near the entrance. It has a steel "box" that was sort of hidden by a mound of dirt and it knocked my steering hard enough to put me into the tree at 5 mph. All damage is cosmetic. All mechanical functions are good except it feels as if i have no Overdrive anymore. Oh well. It is fixable. I hada blast and can't wait to hacksaw this off and go back out!

Drive it like you stole it.......just took a whole new meaning. Hack it off?? Please say you're going to replace the panel and paint it.......right?

looks like fun, and you seem to really be taking that damage well. Hey here is an idea...take this chance to get yourself some fiberglass fenders and just write it off as planning for the future that will give you an excuse to get a new set of tires.

Oh yeah... gonna go to the junk yard monday and find the replacements for next pay day.,.... also found my next truck hopefully. It will get done at the Auto Hobby Shop on base... PLUS!!!!! this gives me a chance to fix the dents on the drivers side of the bed.... so when I get the paint redone... i will have them pull those dents.

My friend that was with me today is going to take me to Richmond to take a look at it. Here it is....

I am not upset at all.... I had a blast! I just feel s because I let that block get the best of me. My steering has so much slack that it didn't help at all.... lolwell, just gives me an excuse to truck! WooT. Besides, if you Oing and don't expect something to break... then you are going to be disappointed. I just expected that I would have broken the suspension, driveshaft, rear end, or killed the engine... not hit a tree....
lol

I am taking this as a learning experience... I just happy to know that my truck could take that kinda of beating and Keep on ticking.... She's been good to me for 3 years now... she's a keeper!

that was at 5mph? i hit a chevy blazer at 35 and had no damage.

I remember them days, back when the truck was completly stock. was always fun to try anything. best thing you can do for a 4cyl, gears. i regret not doing them sooner.

Dude. I would take them... is it on the 7.5 or the 8.8, and does it have LSD? Plus, I need to come up with the money... may have it on pay day, may not...

Well if you have a 7.5 open diff, that Passenger's side rear tire matters more than the driver's side!

Great pics man. Sorry about the carnage. Glad you had fun though. Next time if you make it out with ZERO body damage you will be even more happy haha.

Looks like a lot of fun (had to turn down the volume. Country music makes my ears bleed). I'm betting the pressure washing businesses there love you. lol

2inch leveling springs for the front, flaired fenders, 456's, lsd, and 33s.... o and a hammer, you need to "clearance" the rear part of the fire wall in the fender (basically where your feet are) i did this to a 2wd 4.0 5spd 1994 ranger and it was really really fun.. i miss that truck actually and i know a great really cheap way to flair the bedsides that looks awsome...

and i love when you go in the deep water and the truck bubbles ahahaha sounded really funny..

So, I pulled the Hood and Fender off today! Nothing there.

I then used Andy's Jeep and a Come-A-Long hand winch to pull the sub frame ALMOST completely out. It is FULLY straight. I only have to "smooth" it out. Pics will be here by tomorrow afternoon.
