need help!!! quick!!!
ok im at work punched out went to go start my truck and nothing lights work and all the other accesories but i just wont turn over. i had someone try to jump me but nothing the only noise i hear when turning it over is the solenoid click what could the problem be?
IF all accessories work and when you are given a jump start and all you hear is a click of the solenoid.... then I would check your battery cables and terminals for corrosion and tightness.
Check your voltage at the battery before and during when you are receiving the jump start to see what it is and then when you actually turn the key to see what voltage is present then....
Is it a stick or automatic...? Could be the neutral safety switch !!!!
As a last thing to check..... I would suspect a bad starter.... The solenoid contacts are not transferring power or the starter itself is bad..... ???
Hard to troubleshoot when you are not there !!!!!

that happened to me once too. i just had to wiggle the battery cables at the terminals and it started up after that. the ends of the cables were too corroded, so they weren't allowing it to ground properly. i replaced the cables after that happened. i've also heard that the starter can get jammed sometimes, so you have to hit it with something to get it unstuck.
ok well i checked the battery cable and it was corroded cleaned it and still nothing then i realized it didnt tighten right when i put it back on and it seemed a little loose. so i tried to tighten it and it wouldnt i put a new connector thing on and it started up thanks for the fast responses i got it home last night just didnt have time to post.
