Welcome to the forum
1983 to 1992 7.5" or 8.8" from a Ranger will be correct width and just bolt in
1993 to 2009 7.5" or 8.8" from a Ranger or Mazda B-series will be 1" wider on each side, so not a big deal, and will also just bolt in, the frames never changed just the 1993 and up body's got wider
The drive shaft hook up was the same in all years, as were brake hook ups
There were 9" or 10" rear brakes, but if you get replacement axle with Drums then not an issue
There were OPEN and Limited Slip(L/S) offered in all years
OPEN means the easiest wheel to turn on that axle gets all the power, i.e. 1 wheel burn out, lol
L/S is what Chevy calls Posi-traction and Ford calls Trac Lok
It means both wheels on the axle get the same power, i.e. 2 wheel burn out
