Need help on wheel size

Hey all, I have a stock 97 and found a set of wheels that are 16x8 5x4.5, they have a -38 offset and 4 in backspacing (not sure what those mean unfortunately.) they come with a set of 245/50 16’s

I was hoping someone would be able to tell me if these would fit without rubbing?

im not very savvy with cars but I’m working on it, any help is much appreciated!

Welcome to the forum

1983-2011 Rangers all used 5 x 4.5 lug bolt pattern so that part is OK
16" diameter rims will fit over the calipers and rear drums so that part is OK

Back spacing is easy to understand
Its measured from the inside edge of the rim to where the rim will touch(bolt to) the vehicles hub, like this: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...backspace1.gif

So if its an 8" wide rim with backspace of 4" then rim and tire will sit 4" inside and 4" outside the vehicles hub

Rangers stock wheels/rims used 4.5" back space, so a 4" back space will sit 1/2" farther out from the hub, I doubt you would even notice it

Other thing is the center bore, the hole in the center of a rim, if you have a 2WD then its probably OK, 4x4s had a larger center bore hole
Center bore should be 2.77", 70.2 to 70.5mm

These Rangers use Lug Centric centering, this means the lug nuts will have tapered ends that go into the rim, as you tighten the lug nuts the tapered end centers the rim on the lug studs
