Well long story short, I hit the ditch and rolled this afternoon and am not sure if its repairable or not. I thought I'd post here because you guys have a more indepth knowledge of rangers then my local shop will... The roof of the cab needs to be replaced if thats possible? Other then that the drivers side rear quater panel, drivers door, passenger side rear door hinge, and the mirrors need to be replaced every thing else is pretty much like new.

I only have the one picture now, I'll post more tomorrow when I take my digital camera to take picture to send to auto body shops before I get them to came to check it out in person.

I only chipped one of my front teeth and cut my knuckles up, truck held up pretty well even though it was only at 80km/h.

totaled....BUT fixable no matter what the damage is. new cab, bed, hood, fenders, doors, interior, etc. it's all fixable....just is it worth it? is it worth fixing?

 

Good point... everything's FIXABLE... just depends on who's footing the bill/doing the work

I think it will be totaled. To fix it I think your going to have to replace the whole cab. You could cut the roof off and get another from a junkyard but I doubt it would fit right, that whole cab is most likely bent to one side.

It could be possible that it isnt and a roof from the junkyard would fit fine with a little straighting of the metal. I have seen it done several times. You may want to wait for a more knowledgeable member to help you out though.

Insurance wise it is totaled. Get ya a new cab from the junkyard and you are fine. That is what I would do.

man that blows. are you guys getting pounded out there? i'm gonna guess that you insurance is gonna total it. at least you are ok.

 

Due to the weather and it being new years day so the sanding trucks where either not out yet or only had a few trucks covering a large area the roads were really bad. I lost controll on some ice skidded across the highway and into the ditch on the other side of the road hit hit the snow bank rolled two times and ended up on the drivers side.

Me and two of my uncles flipped it back on its wheels and pulled it back to my place, tommorow I'm gonna pull the plugs and turn it over to clear any oil thats above the pistons.

I pushed the roof up a bit before we towed it because I couldn't see any thing, it worked but now the drivers door won't close.


I hope its not totalled, my insurance is expensive as it is being 20...

 

you can always send it to insurance and buy it back if you really want to put a new cab on it.

The insurance is definatley going to total it but as others have said... Put a new cab and bed on and your good to go. Its not as hard as you think. If you go thru your insurance and it gets totaled you need to find out what kind of a title you are going to get and check with the dmv to go about the rebuilding proceedures for your state. Most states require pictures of the rebuild process and some require the vin # from all the parts trucks the parts came from. Unfortunatley you may be better off rebuilding it yourself with out claiming on your insurance or you will end up with a salvage or rebuilt title.

As long as the frame is straight and the driveline is ok, it's probably better financially to buy it back from insurance and put a new body on (2x rollover, I imagine there is damage over the whole body).

 

Thanks, the only frame damage was the front where the tow hooks mounts was a little tweaked... most times they are fixable with some new body parts and elbow grease.

 

You insurance company is definitey gonna total it. Go ahead and start looking for a new truck. Just go ahead and say good bye to that one and let it get towed off to the JY.
