Need pics of modified ash trays - new switch location

in some of your rangers out there, some of you put a plate where the ashtry is and mounted switches and buttons on it. I would like to do the same, my question is what kinda material did yall use for your plates, how did you attach it so it will stay put, and if you have pics of all your buttons and stuff i would like to see them.

I plan on doing the A/C mod and putting the switch for it there, since i dont wanna cut into my bezel...

ok well i been messing around, and i fabbed up a plate made out of galvanized, to straddle the hole, and made 2 small holes on both sides for my screws. I got 5 coats of primer on it, next up is 2 -3 coats of finish, then attach it. I found out its easier to just romove the ash tray and passenger seat belt switch assembly. I then cut a fairly large square hole in the top part of the ashtray so i can feed my wires thru more easily and, not worry bout drilling new holes in the future. ill have pics up later... im waiting for autozone to open so i can get the lil connectors for the wires, and a switch, this ac mod is speaker wire, like 20awg wire kinda sad really.

what did you use as a plate? I used a piece of scrap galvanized, and am waiting for the paint to dry.

i finished it,

i used a piece of galvanized steel and cut it to fit, then used two small screws to hold it in place.

i needed myu truck, so tomarrow, i might take it apart - again... and repaint the plate and let it dry fully.
