My truck isn't lifted by larger tires or a lift kit but I think it would help shorter drivers and passengers. My wife is about 5' 5" and it takes her a bit longer to get in. I would whack my head trying to get in from that higher position.

I'm short, and my tires are slightly larger, so they help. I want to remove them to make the truck "look" higher, but I'm not sure if I'll like the in/out without the stepbars.

I never remember stepping on them to get into the truck.

 

One thing preventing me from putting them on is how they rust out. I've seen exploders driving around with half of the running missing and the other half being held on by the plastic footing. If I could find a way to seal the holes I would.
