i just bought my Ranger a few months ago. It's a 2001 but it has the honeycomb grill that does not look like any other 2001 I see. It's a 4x4 stepside with the premium off road package and the 4.0 automatic. It also has the factory foglights. Might this be an EDGE? thanks for the help..

 

The edges had a vinyl floor and edge decalling on it. the xlt 4x4 of those years also had the honeycomb Grille, sounds like an xlt to me.

 

If it was an edge it would have edge decals on the bed, and on the fenders does the ranger emblem just say ranger or ranger with xlt beneath it.

Also a dead give away for being an edge would be painted bumpers and vinyl floor.

Theres no difference between the honeycomb grill on an xlt and an edge to.

 

He means grill the name for the raised/cowled hood is powerdome hood.

Thanks guys, it has XLT badges, and carpet interior. It does have the power dome hood too. I just thought it was strange to have a different grill than other 2001 I've seen. thought it might be a different option package.

 

How does the grille look different? Maybe it is an aftermarket one.

 

All 4wds of the same year will have the same grill, honeycomb, here is a 2wd XLT

yep! 2001 4x4's came with the honeycomb grille, fog lamps and powerdome hood. either edge or XLT.
