New Shocks: KYB or Bilstein?

Hey all.

02 FX4 5-speed with 88K here...

My next endeavor on this over-maintained truck is 4 new shocks.

I currently have 2 KYB-GR2 shocks for the rear, but I'm hesitant to install them.

Should I stick with factory Bilsteins all around or just go ahead and order the other two KYB's?

To compare apple to apples I'd go with the KYB mono max. I have the monroe reflexs on mine. For $190 for all 4 pleased me. A truck will ride with a truck unless you do the coilover swap.

Not concerned about ride quality. It's a truck for cripes sakes.

I'm concerned about shocks that allow a payload to be hauled in the bed w/out it bottoming out.

FWIW, what's the coilover swap?

Put explorer springs in the rear with load leveler shocks. That would be your best bet IMO.
