New size F150
New size F150
I read in the paper this morning that Ford is going to introduce a small size F150 as an economy trk around 2011. I guess that is the replacement for the Ranger.
Are they going to call it a F50 or F75 or F100?

pretty much i have decided not to believe any more i read about this...going to wait until they have put a new truck at a dealership and/or the 2010 model year shows up and there is no ranger in the line-up...
It'll be roughly 9/10th's the size of the current F150, to be called the F100. Think the first gen Tundra or T100 sized. Supposedly going to be powered by the new twin turbo v6 gasoline engine. The ranger name plate is likely long gone.....ford wants to continue the whole "best selling truck: The F-series" stuff.....so......F100 will likely replace the Ranger nameplate.
I agree. Just wait it out!

I posted a link awhile back about it. they are workiing on a few twin turboed engines. They were called "Twin Force" but as of now are called EcoBoost. I'll see if I can find the link.
Here's the link...

Ya know Ford is getting their **** together these days. They are using Twin Turbos, and Direct Injection. Ford seems like they have been living in the carburetor era for a long time and their finnaly trying to out do everyone.

i read up on the ecoboost engines.. The twinturbo v6 mustang will be puting out around 340-415hp and 340ftlbs of tourque.. Thats for a v6! And its getting 20% better fuel economy and lighter than the v8's.. thats insane!
I read they are actually calling it a Ford Courier2, and going with a quad turbo supercharged 4-Cylinder.
Really.. its true!! :-D
Actually, I can't wait to see what really pops up.. there HAS to be a pickup being made by somebody.. theres a reason they sell so well! :-D

But does the extra cost of the diesel really make it more beneficial? I mean, if diesel was about the same price as gas, I would probably get a diesel too, purely for the gas mileage, but I don't think I can justify putting $125 into the gas tank just to get an extra 6 MPG's (comparing our companies Dodges, one a hemi 2500, the other a cummins 3500).
