So its a fact that the St. Paul, Minnesota Ranger plant is closing. My dad is convinced that, thats the only place Rangers are made, and that once it is closed there will be no more Rangers built.

Does anyone know anymore then this?

The plant in Jersey closed a few years ago. (edit: the Edison New Joisy plant close in 2004) St. Paul is the only plant building rangers and Mazda B-series. and after June of 08 the plant will be shut down and most likely turned into high priced condos as it is right on the river. If rangers continue after that they will be built elsewhere. My guess is they will be discontinued and ford will have to decide if their "new Ranger" that is in development is economically feasible to bring to market. I highly doubt they will import a ranger as the tariffs will put the price tag into the F-150 territory. Honestly I wouldn't want to be the guy at ford to have to make these decisions right now, because they all could be a lose lose answer.

On a side note, a Kid from my home town just got a job at the assembly plant, apparently too many employees took the early buyout and they were left short handed.
