last time i checked the motor holds 5... he'd have been safe with a spare quart or 2 if he'd have just removed the filter. BUT... if he'd had an oil out while driving he'd have 0 quarts and a seized engine. that oil has the damndest tendency to circulate.lol

i was just sayin the filter itself only holds that much. so if he dodnt drive anywhere and just pulled the filter off to check if he had left the old gasket on he wouldnt loose to much oil.

3k miles to check if it's been double gasketed?

You'd have a blown engine in 2 miles, much less make it 3k.
