Oil Pan Drain Plug
Oil Pan Drain Plug
Draining the oil on my 04 Ranger 4.0 results in a jet of oil shooting toward the front drive axle and eventually sloshing onto the floor. I've tried using a piece of sheet metal as a deflector, but still get a mess. I recently looked at a drain plug with a lever operated valve and a fitting to attach a drain hose. First, what is the thread size of the drain plug in my Ranger, and has anyone had experience with these valves?
Go to Fumoto Oil Drain and simply punch in your trucks info. Their web site will give you the proper drain plug for your truck.
Been using their drains for years on every vehicle, including my Ranger. My 2009 4 cyl takes their F-106 series.
I just looked it up, and your 2004 with a 4.0 takes the same F-106 series.

Your oil drain plug\bolt has M14*1.5 threads.
Dont buy an EZ oil drain valve; they're junk.
