popping noise under the front end...

im sure i know what you all will say. but its my first time really having to deal with a front suspension like this.

when the suspension compresses. for example if i come out of the driveway fast enough, when i go down the little curved curb thing into the gutter, and the front end comes down enough, i get a popping noise. thats the only time it happens. bj's or what?

Sounds like your ball jonts. I noticed that you have a 3" lift. I am lifted as well (2WD) and I just finally fixed my ball joint angle issue. Before that I couldn't go over the slightest bump without a poping noise.

sounds almost CV to me.... my CV binds when the one side is unloaded, then when it loads hard, there's a very very gross sound. If you were here I'd mimic the sound...but i can't discribe it too well. lol. it's almost like a door hinge that really really really needs lube.

I'd still check out the BJ's and outer TRE's.

if you can't figure it out, you could always take it somewhere where they will inspect your front suspension for free, then see what they say. Just make sure you go somewhere that you trust and doesn't try to screw you over

ball joints as mentioned
cv shaft POSSIBLY but you've got a live axle so if it was fawked up you would know it.
Tie rod end maybeee, mine were tight till the day they came off for the SAS
possibly a bearing, but like the CV shafts they're always spinning so you would know if they were done.
check your shock mounts, i'm willing to bet its a shock thats loose or lower ball joint.

I went to midas once, but I know the guy who runs it so, not sure about all of them. Took my truck to get aligned once and the guy came back to say that my lower ball joints were bad and that the outer tie rods were bad too. That is would be like 900 bucks to fix and get aligned. So I said uh, no and took it down to midas and they looked at it and said it was my rack and pinion and everything else was good. Sure enough, got the rack fixed and no problems since.

Could also be your rack and pinion going out

thats what i meant. if anyone knew of a place here. i will never ever take my **** to a large chain. especially midas and places like that. those guys don't know a damn thing.

there is a local tire shop that specializes in 4x4's. all the owners have some badass crawlers. i might check that place out.

no, they know something.. its how to rape people selling **** they don't need.

Small shops like the one i work at rely on they're reputation and word of mouth to stay alive.. Matter of fact, the first thing i did there was fix something Lambs messed up, and I've done it a few times on different cars.

Anytime I hit bumps my front squeeks, and the dealer said I have my top passenger BJ and bottom driver BJ done. Also when I'm from a stop, turning completely left, it sometimes pops, and it's that.
