94 xlt, 2.3l, 5 speed

Hello.

Seeing the steering gearbox wet with fluid, I'm expecting to have to replace it. How difficult is that job? I'm needing tires soon and an alignment. Is an alignment necessary after changing the gearbox? I might not be able to get to the gearbox before the tires.
