Problems...
I have a 93 ranger, 3.0. And I’ve constantly dealt with problems with it. The most recent being trouble starting. I’ve checked the fuses, replaced the file filter and fuel pump, and reset the intertidal switch and still has problems. Any suggestions, and would a engine swap help at all? Or would the same problems still exist.

Welcome to the forum
First test is to turn on the key and see if CEL(check engine light) comes on, it should, that means computer is starting up
Now try to start engine, CEL should GO OFF when engine is turning over, that means computer is seeing timing pulse from spark system
If CEL stays on then skip to "no spark" below
Try to start engine, if it doesn't start
Remove the air hose that goes to air cleaner and spray fuel into the intake, use gasoline or Ether(Quick start)
Then try to start engine, this is called 50/50 test
If engine starts up then you still have a fuel delivery problem
If engine does not start then you have a spark problem
50/50 instant results
No spark
1993 3.0l used a distributor so can have more spark issues than later models
It used a TFI spark module which did have issues but usually when over heated
You can do a compression test on the engine, expected is 150psi
If its under 120psi then it may be time for another engine, rings and/or valves are worn out
But no, if an engine is not starting changing the engine won't help, its a spark or fuel issue 99.9% of the time, compression is the 3rd issue that can cause a no start
