Quick Help?

If I were to replace the rear-end in my 5 speed 98 Ranger with a rear end out of a 2002 Ranger with Automatic transmission is there any gear difference or is it possible to keep my fourwheeldrive. The 2002 is a 4.0 and mine is a 3.0 I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you so much.

Post the digits off the tag on both rear's cover. It should be held on by one of the cover bolts.

or you can look on the "Vehicle Certification Sticker" inside the drivers door.......

then look here:

you MUST keep the front and rear gears the same ratio for your 4wd to work properly....
