Quick... was this much axle supposed to come out!!

I pulled my passanger side spindle/CV/HalfShaft out just now and the whole axle shaft came out with it. Is is supposed to or is there something broken in the diff. There seems to be a place for a clip on the axle, but it slid right out. Help!!

Not on the front axle, Tommy. No c-clips up there. That looks right.

Is this the clip you are talking about Tommy? So when I get the new HalfShaft is it going to have that piece or do I need to take it off of this one and reuse it?

Thank you very much, that eases my mind, haveing that thing come out and seeing into the pumpkin got me a little worried...
