RABS II Issue

Hello all....new here, but not new to the Ranger. My truck is a very basic 1997 2.3 liter 2 wheel drive vehicle with about 110K miles on it. It's been mostly trouble free since I've had it (about 16 years). That is until now. My ABS and Brake lights have come on. I've been doing a lot of research and a lot of checking and replacing and seem to have made no headway. I'm getting a code 4 which indicates RABS Valve Switch closed. I checked the valve using some posted resistance readings and continuity checks, and couldn't find anything wrong with it, but decided to replace it anyway since everything else seemed OK. The new valve didn't resolve the problem. I checked the continuity of the four wires going from the RABS VALVE to the control module and they all checked good. I checked the resistance of the RABS differential sensor (that had already been replaced) and it reads 1900 ohms, so that should be OK. All of the brake lights are fine, the fluid level switch checks good, but to be double sure I jumped the two lines in the plug with no change. As a last resort I thought possibly the control module might be defective, so I picked up another one. I get the same error code using the new control module. Here is the system diagram...….

So...to recap....I'm getting a Code 4 error (RABS Valve Switch closed). The connections from RABS Valve to the Control Module are good. I replaced the RABS Valve. The RABS differential sensor has been checked and found to be good. The Fluid Level Switch is good, and bypassed to be sure, with no change. The Diode and Resistor element have been checked and are both good. The brake lights are all good. I've checked as many of the Control Module lines as I can for power, ground, continuity and all seems fine. That would be Control Module terminals: 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14.

Where do I go from here? There's not a whole lot to this system....I'm baffled that I haven't been able to find it. I'm usually pretty good at finding things like this. Maybe it's something so obvious I'm overlooking it. That's why I'm posting here.... Thanks in advance for any help. Bob
