Just like the title says I need a gem for a 4x4 with rabs from a 99-00

What is a gem and rabs? I'm going to the junkyard tomorrow and could look for you?

 

That would be awesome! The gem is called a few different names. GEM - Generic Electronic Module or
Central Timer Module or 4x4 Control Module or Body Control Module. Anyway it is located in the center of the dash to the left of the radio It wil say 4x2 or 4x4 on it. It has one bolt holding it in on the bottome then it slides down to remove it. It also has 4 wiring plugs on the 4wd models and 3 on the 2wd models. Rabs is rear antilock brakes which is different than 4wabs. Anyway I have a 4x4 gem from a 98 and it won't work because of the year difference. I have a 2000 gem that won't work because its for 4wabs(although the 4wd kicks in) You can tell if a truck has rabs or 4wabs by the control module located by the battery. 4wabs will have 6 brake lines going into it and the rabs will only have 2 brake lines.
I have to have one from a 99-2000 model with rabs. If you find one I'll come up and get it or we can meet somewhere, thats the only thing keeping me from having 4wd.

 

Ok just to make sure I understand this, GEM=4x4 switch thats on the left of the radio on the bezel? and you need from a 99-00 ranger with RABS? Last time i was at this place which was right before the last meet, they had a couple 99-00 4x4s so they should still have them. What would you be willing to pay for it?

If you could i need the Temp sensor and the plug for it for a OHC if you could find one would you grab it for me please?

 

Thanks for the pic Josh. So if I find one I need to cut all those wires off the connector? And ya, I'm pretty sure I can find that stuff for you Josh. Oh, and the Plug your talking about is the bundle of the different color wires for the OHC right?

If you want to part with one shoot me a price if your sure they are for rabs. I guess you could try it in your truck and be able to tell if you want to mess with it.
