random dieing...

MY truck seems to have this random, whenever it wants to just die... then as its rolling to a stop it starts or like today it wouldnt start for a few minutes, then i try it one last time and it cranks over and over then starts..

seems to do it the most while I'm accelerating or letting off the gas..

Tranny hitting the wrong gear?

I know its not a ton of info, no codes, no lights, runs fine the rest of the time.

I had the battery unhooked yesterday.

Any ideas?

Fuel pump?? Sending unit?? How's your filter??

My IAC is clogged again......at startup, she fires right up, high idle, isle goes way down, then starts to die....i gotta blip the throttle to keep her running. once she running for a few minutes, she's good to go.

Crazy ford engines.

Crazy ford engines.

I changed the filter 20k ago, I suppose i could change it again.

Unless i dont understand the full effects of the IAC im not sure why it would be the issue.

Fuel Pump sounds like a legitimate issue.

You might want to stick your head by the tank and see if you can smell any fumes.

I doubt its the IAC.

I would check the battery cables. I had a bad one on a motorcycle and it would cause the bike to die on heavy acceleration and sharp bumps. It had a crack in the cable under the double insulation. Took 3 days to find.
Another motorcycle would die at weird times and it turned out to be a bad computer that did not have any codes showing. They finally swapped out the computer with another to find it.

Check other connections on your wiring and for any wires lying where they shouldn't be. Near exhaust or have rubbed against something.

So does your throttle cable get held slightly more open at idle now? Raising your idle and keeping it from stalling?

Could be a TPS on its way out too Zach. MAF clean? May be a crankshaft or camshaft sensor glitch as well. I would definitely check the battery cables and the chip. Make sure your theft light doesnt flash when this problem occurs. It could be the chip is not making perfect contact and screwing with the PATS system. Seen them all before, just some ideas!
