Yeah my theft light does not work. I'll have to catch you on aim

so you are running a plug in chip and the X2? if you are, that could be your problem.......

i would say it is a fuel pump problem.....but start simple and replace the fuel filter.......i think in the Haynes or Chilton Manuals there is a test on how to check the fuel pump.......

have you tried to pull codes even though the light isn't on? remember my truck had a code with no light on the way back from MI.........

I'm really hoping that is it, it seems extremely doggy, i wonder if the chip just stopped working all together.

ya my idle only went up about 100 rpm but it made the difference taking the slack out of the throttle cable.

mine does that every now and then.
seems to happen when i have below 1/4 tank of gas.
if i clean the IAC and MAF sensor it seemed to help a little.
and my truck will stall a lot if im going down the road and throw it in netural..donno y.

Hey Zach once it does it; does it keep doing it or does it stop...is it a continous thing. Do you know, or can you feel when its going to do it...like its a fuel pump

It sounds like its an IAC or Fuel Pump/Filter issue. Mine did it, i could feel it i knew when it was going to shut off, many people told me it was the IAC, i changed that it stopped, but it started again and i had a loose/caroded wire on top of my tank for the pump, so i changed the pump & filter while i was under there and its fine, but my truck also has 130k miles of new england winters so....again just another thought to throw out

no i have no idea when it is going to happen. it just happens. freak thing. its been idling really low and rough as well.

its not the chip that works fine. if i hammer on it it runs awesome, its normal driving that sucks. i put some fuel cleaner in it to see if that would help... so we will see.

Ide change your fuel filter for the heck of it, might have got some nasty stuff in there, i try to change mine once a year or so.

There cheap might as well try it, mine when i fired it up would kind of sputter then rev up to normal idle. it was weird. sounds like a lack of fuel...start with the filter, IAC is easy to figure out, spray it with contact cleaner then put it back on (temporary fix) and see if that fixes it. Your a smart guy ide do process of elimination...IAC, MAF, Fuel Filter, lastly troubleshoot the pump

Check other connections on your wiring and for any wires lying where they shouldn't be. Near exhaust or have rubbed against something.

I had an 84 f150 that did the same thing...crappy idle at time, wanted to die on deceleration, hesitated once in awhile on acceleration. I threw a couple hundred dollars in parts into it(rebuilt carb, distributor/cap/stator, plugs, wires) and found it was a damn 3' long ground cable that the coating had gotten torn away and it was uber corroded. That lil cable had my old truck running like new.

I had a f150 that did the same thing like a few times a month. I had tryed everything i could think of , thinking it was a short or something electricial, when all the time it was the damn sock dealy in the gas tank. I lowered the gas tank ,took the piece off the top, looked in and couldnt believe how bad the sock filter was. I just took it off and never had a problem again with the stalling problem. It worth a shot and with a lift u probably can get at it without to many problems.

dump a can of seafoam in your gas tank and get back to us.

lol.. im adding that stuff to the universal "fix-it" tool box. wd40, gorrilla tape (proven stronger than duct tape and will stick to wet stuff), zip ties, hammer, seafoam..

no seriously though.. Im guessing pump.. In case everyone elses opinions hadn't swayed you that direction..
