its a 04 chevy 4.8 srry mis type white 77 k@n intake, and it i cant get rubber in 3erd gear ill kiss ur a$$ i'll put a vid on here and let u hear and its stock dude it's a ford come on they dont make ****! :-) dont hate appricate
Are you sure its not your fan belt squeaking when the A/C disengages.. and you just happened to be in third gear when it happened?
Most cars pushing 500 horsepower cant even chirp third gear.. not unless yoru dumb enough to elt the first and second gears burn rubber while you launch on a third.. and thats impossible on a 3.0 =)
I mean, if you have a vid, I would love to see it, and would fantasize as to how you did it with that engine

Getting rubber in 3rd?? With a stock 3.0L?? Can you send me whatever you're smoking...please.
You running slicks with WD/40 too??? LOL
I believe him.
I could easily chirp third on my last set of tires (balding Dueler Revos).
But my effective ratio is 4.33 with the smaller tires.
These Michelins are much harder to break loose.
I specifically recall (hating) the Firestone Wilderness (replaced by BFG Long Trails under the recall) OEM tires also chirping third when the truck was brand new. It's all about the hardness of the tread compound.

Prove it!! I have a 3.0 thats not stock and I can't bark second, same damn engine as you.
I can say.. when I was goofing off with my brothers honda civic behind me when we were coming home from town one day.. I was going up a wet offramp and decided to have some fun.. so i slowed down, popped it into first and spun my tires all the way up through third gear... that was fun, but thats using a 4.0 on a wet slick onramp (uphill) on one of the seasons first rains.. which means slick roads around here.

I had a 99 3.0/stick XLT ranger. 100% stripper truck, power nothing, It would chirp going into 3rd at high rpm's. Wouldnt break em' free, but it would chirp.
My 91 S10 Blazer 4.3 stick(car before my Ranger) would wheel hop like mad while peeling out in first. It would wheel hop so mad that it would deploy the air brake early(rear hatch with a broken lock).
sitting still and a water pit obviously help. you would never chirp 3rd in a 2.3 if you launched from a dead stop.

i can acctually jump time zones in 2nd gear!!
