Ranger with a sun roof

I was surfing through craigslist and I saw this ad posted. I saw this truck and the sunroof looks factory but I didn't think Ford sold them with sun roofs. Is this a factory job or a nicely done aftermarket.

Not factory, but an add on. I almost had it done to my 04 when I bought it, but the had to lower the headliner and my head already hit on the ranger so I didn't want to make it worse. It was a $600 my cost add on back then. Lots of Impala SS guys do it.

Yeah, Ford has never offered an optional sunroof for a Ranger... still cool though!

Someone here welded in an explorer Sunroof, which utilizes the existing roof support instead of making it useless.

I'll bet a Super Duty one would work as well (in super or extended).

They screwed up if you look closely the headliner in the pic of the sunroof is tan the interior of the ranger is grey. Can't believe no one caught that.

I think thats just the lighting. The side interior panel where the seatbelt attaches is the same color as the head liner. I don't think that would fly if it was tan.

no clayton is right. if you look closely at that picture it does not look like a ranger interior at all. the curve of the window, the grab handle and the map lights are all wrong.plus look how big the rear window is. that picture is not a ranger.

Ive seen a couple rangers with sunroofs. There are a couple aftermarket shops around here that do them. If done properly they are sweet.

I think the moon roof picture is a mistake post. There is a video that talk about the truck. it mentions the "integrated tail lights" but no moon roof. I have a feeling they wouldn't miss that key point.

i asked ford about putting a sunroof in my truck when i first got it, they said they won't install a sunroof on any Ranger due to the fact the roof would lose it's structural durability in the event of a rollover

My 97 has it. But the guy that owned it before me put it in. It looks good, but was never stock.

derrick, onephatranger, ankle biter, etc did the ex sunroof in his truck. pretty sure that one got scrapped though.

i have a power spoiler sunroof in my truck. LOVE IT! I put it in myself. hardest part was getting the nerve to start cutting the hole.

that is back as far as it goes. i am in the stage of putting an ohc in mine. i was planning on using the sunroof version, but it's way too long. the reg one looks to be about a 1/2" too long, but that's no big deal. just have to figure out how to mount it.

Dude! Did you cut that out perfectly with just a jigsaw? Or did you just cut close to the lines and then used a grinder?

jigsaw only. the sunroof drops in from the top, and has a lip around it. so there is a little wiggle room. the sunroof is probably my most favorite mod to my truck. i would do it to another one in a heart beat. the first one i put it, i got for free from the shop i work for. we replaced one in a cavalier, and i got the old. after 2 years or so of it completely not working, i finally got the money to buy a new one.
