i just pulled out the wiring harness on my 2006 ford ranger 2.3l manual 5 speed and i’m getting a 1999 ford explorer engine but when i buy the engine it will not come with the wiring harness where could i get this from?

 

You will have a few more problem than wiring harness, 2006 Ranger dash/cluster is digital so needs the 2.3l computer(and engine) to work

If you want to run the Explorer V8(I assume) with fuel injection then you will need a 1998-2001 harness and its computer, along with its PATS key(s)
Also the 4R70W automatic transmission from 1996-2001 2wd explorer V8

If you go with carburetor and distributor setup then no wiring harness needed, or computer, and you can use AOD automatic from a 302/5.0l engine vehicle, not AODE

If you want a manual trans then you need an M5OD-R2 transmission from a 1997-2003 F-150 4.2l(V6) 2WD, for either of the above


As for the cluster, you will need a 2003 or earlier analog cluster, and rewire it for use with either of the above
