what to do with my trucks...input?

so i have had the mazda on craigslist for a week, and its on pirate....My original plan was to trade for a 2door cherokee and make a bad@ss crawler out of it....but now im over it.

what do you guys think of this...with the money i have right now, take it to a shop (so its done right) and....

-sas it with a d30 or a d44
-8.8 rear (just for the perches, gears, and lockers.. i can install it)
-4.56's all around
-35's

then also get a bumper made and get a spray in bedliner.

THEN, sell the mazda and get a 5.0 swap.

what do you guys think. my ranger is comin up on 100k miles and all of a sudden i want to start getting it worked on, and ive lost interest in my mazda...plus it would bring me back to one vehicle, instead of having a 2nd that is kind of unneeded.

money....doesnt matter too much right now, its just the direction i need...advice??

sounds good but if ur planing on running 35's i would go 4.88...or even 5.13....depending on what u plan on doing with it.....especially since its a 3.0.

I don't think swapping in a 5.0 is a good idea when your in CA. You have to go to the CA BAR and get the engine inspected, legalized and registered for your truck. If you don't then every time you have to smog the vehicle you have to go back and install the orig motor that came with the truck.

I don't know if you knew this already but something to think about.

Just 5.0 swap it and re-gear if you have to. When you get bored with that then go with something different.

if you are going for a solid axle swap

go for the dana 44 ( even better ,, use a ford 9`` inch ,, reverse rotation )

even though the dana 44 is a very stout axle

the ford 9 inch axle beats it hands down in regards to stoutness and also for aftermarket parts

also use a dana 300 manual transfer case ( meant for a jeep jy )
