Anybody had this problem? Mine has begun to leak where the steering shaft goes into the box (as far as I can see). It only leaks when it gets warmed up, then it slowly drips down. I thought it was brake fluid at first but it's power steering fluid.

The power steering feels completely normal. The fluid level is dropping slowly, but I keep it topped up.

I believe there are seals or o-rings where the steering shaft enters the rack. My service manual is very vague on this. Anyone have any more specific info or experience?

That's all my paper manual says. Then it gives zero information on disassembling the rack. Yeah, I'd call that vague.

 

I think they want you to just replace the whole rack if there is a leak of any type.But as we all know,John will figure out a way to make a new seal out of a mixture of berries and leaves! JK John,I have to pipe up and give you a hard time every now and then.Actually it is more like a compliment in the fact that you can make anything work!
