reg cab 4.0?
I think some folks tried but failed.
We talked about this at one point and some of us feel it's like this:
1. Standard cab Rangers are VERY squirrely. The short wheelbase has a very short "time constant" of oscillation. I am one of the people who wrecked one and that was a BIG contributing factor. Those of us who have owned both know how much more stable the extended cabs longer wheelbase is.
2. Ford is risk-averse, and must be aware of the limitations of the standard cab Ranger's wheelbase and weight distribution.
3. Ford decided too much power in the standard cab was a lawsuit waiting to happen.
That's my take anyway. Either that or it just wasn't popular enough.
