Replacing A/C line?
Replacing A/C line?
So how my power steering box is mounted, it rubbed a small hole in my A/C line that goes from the compressor to the condensor. How hard of a job is this to do? For just that small hose, it's $112!!! My truck only blows hot air now and I really NEED the A/C in this 90+ degree weather.
Also, to recharge the system, do I just need to get one of those 'charger kits' from Advance Auto or something like that?

When you recharge the system, you will need to vac it out. I would recommend taking it to a shop who has all the proper tools and gauges to do a fresh recharge. While you are at it, replace the dryer and orfis (sp?) tube.
I replaced mine on a 4.0. It was pretty difficult trying to rout the new line through the nooks and crannies. I should have studied the rout a little bit before yanking the old one out. I just used a recharge kit and all was fine. I'm not saying what I did was "proper, but I got it done.
What ever u do dont take it to the dealer they charged me over 500 bucks to replace that hose and recharge the system. All because the dude who put the pa lift on didnt use the clamp to secure the ac line so the fan belt rubbed a hole in it.
