Rough idle
Hi I’m new to the forum,so here I go.
I have a 1985 ford ranger 4x4 with the 2300. The engine is a new long block, new Weber carb and intake, new distributor and coil. No pollution control. This thing should run better than it does.
when you rev it up and let it idle down it runs ruff. Some times it will die. Running down the road it’s ok .
because the engine is so simple you would think it has to be an easy fix. Any help would be great.

Ok I think I found the problem. At idle it has 75# of pressure. I think it’s a bad oil pump. It is pumping up the lifters too much, who would ever think that to much pressure
would be a bad thing.
would be a bad thing.
