is salt an issue?
Hey group, I am currently searching for a truck. I found the perfect one located in the other corner of the country in Oregon. I am thinking of having it shipped to Florida but have some concerns about salt and or snow damage. It is a 2020 with almost 23k miles. Thoughts
Is Salt an Issue???? No so long as you don't over do it while cooking. On the roads is another story. They dont call it the rust belt for no reason.
A three year old car may or may not have issues, all depends on if it was used a lot during winter seasons.

Welcome to the forum
Non-issue if its from Oregon and only 3 years old
And Oregon doesn't use the heavy salt that is used in upper mid-west and north east US
They are "tree huggers"
".....they instead treat the roads with magnesium chloride, a chemical salt that's applied as a liquid solution. It's considered easier on the environment and less corrosive to vehicles and roadways."

I've seen a ton of 40 year old trucks come out of Oregon with very little rust. Alot of the classic Ford trucks you see sold for high dollars are coming out of the Pacific Northwest.
I would be more worried about buying a vehicle sight unseen, then I would about rust from a vehicle in Oregon.
