Wondering if anyone can locate me one of the plain center consoles from a Ranger with factory bucket seats. Can't find any at any yards around here. I need the black one. I still have the tan/black factory buckets from my other '03 wrapped in plastic up in the attic and I was wanting to swap them into my current '03 that is equipped with 60/40 seat. I don not want to put in a full length Explorer console.

so you need an fx4 console and not the regular one?

 

Not sure if there is a difference. The one pictured is what came factory in my long gone '03 4x2 XLT that was factory equipped with the cloth bucket seat option. Its going in my current '03 4x4 XLT that is currently equipped with 60/40 bench. Like I said, I have the factory buckets from the 4x2 still wrapped up in the attic from when I swapped in the Explorer seats, might as well use them in the truck I have now. When I swapped them out of the other truck it only had about 15,000 miles on it so they should still be nice and fresh.

 

that looks like a 04-05 FX4 Level II shorty console.

If it didn't have to be black... Pull-a-part has a grey one, in a 98 explorer... well did when i was there saturday.

There is nothing special about the Level II console. I pulled that exact same style of console out of an 05 FX4 Off Road in a salvage yard.

 

oh ok, i am not familiar with the differences between FX4 stuff and Level II stuff.

 

Level II's are unique but people always think everything on them is a one off part. They do have enough of their own parts to make them cool but they're sure not Cobra's or anything like that.

 

Right. I know a lot of options (like the shorty console) were FX4 only it's just whether or not it was FX4 only or FX4 Level II only. That's what I don't know.

 

Definately not FX4 specific. Just is what comes with this year (proabably '01-'03 or so) Rangers with the factory bucket seat option. As I have said, the pics are from what came in my '03 2wd XLT, minus the Explorer seats. Since most came with the 60/40 bench, they are not exactly common. Thats why I need help locating one.
