Insurance is silly o.O

Im 25, and pay 145 a month for full coverage on my 4x4 06 ranger. Oddly enough, I was getting some quotes on other vehicles and my insurance would actually be LESS with an 08 V8 mustang. Whats up with that?

Every auto insurance online quote I have gotn has had the same results. Is there a reason a truck would have igher insurance rates? Is it the fact they think its being used and abused more?

Thats why I mentioned the "25 years old" thing lol :D. Dont worry, insurance takes a nosedive at that age, mine dropped $50 a month.

Thats what I'm thinking. Or the fact its just a lrger vehicle or that it may be used for work, and more likely to suffer body damage?

But I'm seriously considering getting one of the new mustangs. I moved to NYC last year, and my truck hasnt seen mud since

You All are getting ripped.

For my 2004 4x4 truck it was $960 a year. Full coverage.

4x4 should accually make it cheaper.

Now with a 88 buick my insurance is 1080 a year with my truck and car.

Do some shopping around. You need a better plan.

New York is a ' No fault ' state. He won't find any signifigantly lower rates.

Mario M. Cuomo switched the liabilities for the state back in the late 80's. The Insurance Companies have been raking in profits at an unbelievable rate in this state since.
Sucks for you Yorkers

Insurance lady told me its cheaper due to its considered a saftey feature

But when I do the quote online it shows it at the same rates

but all insurance companies are diffrent and she has been my agent since I was 16 so she might have hooked me up

I dunno...I kinda like car insurance. Of course, I'm only 19, and have yet to venture out onto my own insurance....but I have an 06 ranger in my name...full coverage. I wrecked it in feb on my way to work after being run off the road and catching slush and ice because some dick was in a hurry and then just kept on going, and I only paid $500, as opposed to the $10k+ damage done to the truck.

There is a trend in the insurance game. Pay your premiums in 6 month lots instead of monthly.

For what it's worth.. I'm 37yrs old, perfect record, live in a high population / high risk area, $500 deductible, $100 ded for glass, and pay $410 every six months for progressive insurance. That = $68 a month for my 06 FX4

Now.. if I were to pay it monthly it would cost me and additional $68 a month!!! Keep in mind there are two cars lumped in there.. but still paying monthly will kill ya.

Honestly it's worse than a credit card interest rate! Guys.. look into paying every six months and you might be supprised. Thinking "monthly payments" is a very bad financial way to live.

nevermind I had to read it again lol

I may have to check out progressive again. They where $200 higher last time I checked them out. Maybe they will be cheaper every 6 months then my current insurance

well we are paying $650 a year for full coverage on my ranger, with 250/500 coverage.... now on the Ford E350 cutaway van (think Uhaul) we are paying $850 with 100/300 in jan of 06 we dropped all liability from $2,000,000 to what it is now to save money, and then i get hit with 2 accidents! ugh!

I imagine my insurance is gonna go thru the roof tho, since I now have 5 pts on mylicense cause some ahole young kid was doin 60+ in a 35 on a scooter with no light at midnight. Such as life I geuss... I get the ****ty end of the stick cause the judge doesnt wanna 'rock the boat'

I'm paying a little over a $100/month and I don't have a clean record, I'm 24, in NY. Check out Geico, I switched and started saving $50/month over Alstate.

i'm 40. last accident: july 1988. last ticket: feb 1997. i have full coverage insurance with $50 deduct. my truck is a 2001 ranger 4x4 supercab 4.0L. insurance paid monthly: $75. or $450 every 6 months/$900 a year.

sure, there may be a cheaper rate, but those who get a cheaper rate, are the ones with a $500 or (god forbid) $1000 deductable. sorry, if i get into an accident, i'd like to pull out two twenties and a ten and say: "there ya go, fix that truck!"
