single click/clunk when hitting brake pedal?

Just started hearing a single click like noise when applying brakes. Sounds almost like it's coming from the pedal? I checked the calipers- they're snug (though we're loose last week but I retightened them). Just redid the calipers pads, rotors and had the brakes bled. Any thoughts on what this could be?

Happens when car is in any gear. When parked and I hit the brakes a lot to try and find the sound the brake pedal stiffens up (almost like a steering wheel locking) and doesn't go down far enough for me to hear the sound.

Sounds like something in the pedal assy, connecting rod assy, or vacuum canister.
