Brake pedal

Well when driving, the brake pedal feels soft, This is the first time I have ever over shot my driveway and had to go in the second driveway (We have a U drive way and I missed the first). I know what I need to do but I can't get to the place right now to have it looked at. So with that being said is there anything on the ranger as far as brakes that usually goes or starts going out at about 25K?

**if you're wondering what im saying by getting something adjusted its these.

I dont think they need adjusting as I see nothing breaking down at such a rapid rate that stuff starts to mess up. thats why im wondering if something in the braking system is going or what. My brake lights do randomly come on at times.

SOrry if this makes no sense

I've noticed that as the rear brakes wear , the automatic adjusters do not do their job. This leads to a soft pedal.Adjusting them back up (even at 25K) will usually bring the pedal back up to where the brakes grab at the top.
It's possible when the hand controls were installed they were adjusted too tight and 'rode' the brakes causing the rears to wear.
Also , next time you drive , notice whether or not your hand is constantly on the lever. You may be riding the brake and not even realize it.

I had to look at my brakes at about 17,000 miles, if your at 25,000 miles and haven't checked them...its time. I know highway driving can double the life of your brakes but if it mostly city stop and go then your nearing the end of the line on the pads. The rotors may need to be replaced too.

Good Luck...
